Week Eleven: 17th November
This week I have taken more photos based on my plans and have thought about which ones I intend to use and where. For example, these photos would be suitable for my front cover:
However the first two are landscape shots therefore won't fit the format of my
magazine. The third image is what I intend to use, despite it being slightly blurry.
Later this week I will retake this shot, hoping to acquire a more professional
photo to use. Further evaluation of my images can be seen on my photos page.
Week Twelve: 24th November
This week I have organised my Wix website so that my work is clearly laid out. I have also thought about my photos in more depth and decided which ones would be best to use. This can be seen on my Analyses page. I have also begun creating the first draft of my front cover for my magazine using such photos. To keep my work organised, I will show my magazine plans on another page, titled Production.
Week Thirteen: 1st December
I have been chnaging my draft of my front cover to make it look as professional as possible. I have also created the first draft of my contents page. All of my work so far can be seen on the productions page.
Week Fourteen: 8th December
Having finished my production pieces, I have evaluated my work. This can be found on the evaluation sub page under Preliminary Task. After Christmas, I will start the New Music Magazine work.

Week Fifteen: 5th January
I annotated a music magazine (Kerrang!) front cover and contents page over the holidays, and I have improved this to a detailed analysis. We have also begun to look at the conventions of double page spreads as a class, and I
will analyse some of these too.
Week Sixteen: 12th January
All of the music magazine analyses can be seen on the corresponding pages below
"New Music Magazine." I have chosen to look at rock magazines as this is the genre
I am most interested in and want to focus on.
Week Seventeen: 19th January
I have begun researching my target audience using secondary sources to
begin with. I plan to carry out interviews and questionnaires with
my target audience to futher my understanding. My
findings will be recorded on the Genre Research
page.
Week Eighteen: 26th January
Having collected and analysed my findings from research, I am now thinking about what to include in my production. To begin with, I will decide on which fonts to use in my production. I have already chosen to use red, balck and white colours as these are the conventional colours representing rock music, but I may have to use an additional colour for puffs and key words for example.
Week Nineteen: 2nd February
This week I have thought about what I want my original images to look like. I have taken into consideration that the main image for the front cover should be portrait, but the DPS in the format of landscape. This will allow me to use the images to take up the majority of the page. I'd also like to incorporate the house colours in my photos, through black/red clothing and a white or colourful background. I will need to take a variety of photos in order to have secondary images, and a range of people as well.
Week Twenty: 9th February
Having planned the images I want to take, I have started to shoot some photos using female models to appeal to my TA. Although I've only taken a few, we used different settings and props to create new compositions. This means I have content for more than one page.
These are the images I have taken so far, use
the arrows to navigate and click on them to
enlarge an image.
I plan to edit some of these to use them in my
magazine and use as many varied shots as
possible, so that my work doesn't look plain
and repetitive.
Week Twenty-one: 16th February
This week I have collected the images I intend to use in my production, edited a few and decided on how to use them. I have also compared different fonts I thought were suitable to use in my production, and chosen a number of different styles.
Week Twenty-two: 23rd February
This week I have begun construction of my front cover, keeping in mind my research and target audience. The shots I intended to use have been edited to look even bolder and brighter, supporting the genre of rock.
Week Twenty-three: 2nd March
Having finished the front cover of my magazine, I am now working on the contents page, and double page spread, following my drafts and real rock music magazines as templates.
Week Twenty-four: 9th March
This week I made changes to my three pages. I have commented on these changes briefly, but will explain my choices in more detail in my evaluation.
Week Twenty-five: 16th March
A few additional changes were made for the last time, meaning I will dedicate my time next week to writing the evaluation for my work which I have planned.
Week Twenty-six: 23rd March
I have begun my evaluation, using the a checklist to ensure I address all the questions.

These blog pages are where I will show what I have been doing each week in media.
